The Musician:
Roxanne’s musical interest took hold at the age of 8 when she began singing in the children's church choir. Throughout secondary school and college she performed in a variety of musicals and took part in vocal competitions.

Roxanne studied piano throughout her middle and high school years and began composing at age 16. She also plays Hurdy Gurdy, Harmonium and Zils.

The Songwriter:
Roxanne’s creativity may best be expressed though her lyrics and song writing. As a writer, poet, and hopeless romantic, Roxanne’s pursuits include an understanding of depths of human passion. Much of her writing is influenced by her years in academia and her studies abroad. A variety of world cultures play a big part in her compositions as is demonstrated by the various languages she writes and performs in.

The Performer:
A love of performance led Roxanne to attain a BA in Theater, along with degrees in Literature and Philosophy achieved simultaneously at the University of Michigan-Flint.

For over 10 years, Roxanne has studied a variety of Middle Eastern Dance styles through classes, workshops and performances at events both in the US and overseas. Since 1999 she has appeared in numerous public concerts, festivals and private venues including Renaissance Festivals across the U.S. and in Ireland.

In 2006 she founded the comedy suffused Carnivale Mijnoon Music and Dance Company and worked as the Executive Director, Creative Director, Choreographer, Script Writer, Costume Designer, and Lead Dancer in 2006 and 2007.

In 2007 Roxanne produced two Belly Dance Instruction/Performance DVDs, “Of Night and Shadows” and “A Night of Carnivale” which are now available on this website.
